Speakers
- Ghada Karmi is a Palestinian-born academic, physician and author who has written two memoirs of Palestine and on Palestine for The Guardian, The Nation, and Journal of Palestine Studies. Her most recent book is ‘One State: The Only Democratic Future for Palestine-Israel’. She is an associate fellow at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, a visiting professor at London Metropolitan University, and former Vice Chair of the Council for Arab-British Understanding.
- Haim Bresheeth is an Israeli born peace activist, film maker and academic. He was Professor of Film Studies at the University of East London, a researcher at the School of Oriental and African Studies and Dean of the School of Media, Film and Cultural Studies at Sapir College, Israel. He has written extensively on the Middle East, the Holocaust and Israel and for the Israeli broadsheet Haaretz. His most recent book is ‘An Army Like No Other’ – a study of Israel’s army.
- Alex Kenny is a teacher and Co-Chair of the Stop the War Coalition and a member of the NEU Executive.
- Tom Hickey was a university lecturer and is a leading member of BRICUP and a member of Brighton UCU.
