Plans for this coming weekend 22/23 May 2021
Although a so-called “ceasefire” was announced last night, the need to demonstrate our solidarity with the beleaguered people of Palestine is still great.
The statement issued earlier today by national PSC makes it clear that we do not accept the so-called status quo for the Palestinian people of Gaza, the Palestinian people of East Jerusalem, the Palestinian people in the West Bank, the Palestinian people in ’48 Israel, and the Palestinian people exiled around the world. You can read the full statement here.
Saturday 22 May – London march
Many of us will be travelling to London to take part in the demonstration and march called by PSC, CND, Stop the War Coalition and Friends of Al Aqsa. All our members and supporters going to London are very welcome to meet us at the railway station, travel with us, and march with us in London.
Assemble: Brighton railway station at 10.45am
Travel on the 11.12am Thameslink train to London Blackfriars, arriving 12.21pm.
Please book your tickets online in advance if possible, or allow plenty of time at the station to buy tickets.
Please bring flags, banners, placards, etc.
Details of the London demo here.
Sunday 23 May – Solidarity rally at the Peace Statue at 12 noon.
We will have our own local solidarity rally on Sunday, starting at 12 noon at the Peace Statue on the seafront, opposite Brunswick Terrace and near to Hove Lawns and the Meeting Place Café BN3 2WN. Our plans will depend on the weather, but please bring flags and banners, and in particular a placard with your own personal message for the people of Palestine. Photos of these will form part of our social media posts from the demo, and will be seen by our comrades in Palestine.
