Local PSC member Charlotte Perkins is a regional distributor for Hadeel, a certified fair trade shop based in Edinburgh that sources goods primarily from the West Bank and Gaza. ‘Hadeel’ (which means the cooing of a dove in Arabic) supports many small producer groups – particularly women – in places across Palestine such as Beit Jala, Beit Sahour, Hebron and Ramallah. The shop works closely with Zaytoun in the UK.
Hadeel sells a wide range of products including food, jewellery, embroidery, olive wood and ceramics. There are also books and DVDs, products for children, cards and stationery, and religious items.
