We’ll be standing in solidarity with the people of Palestine, Mexico and all whose lives are destroyed by expulsion, exclusion, oppression, discrimination and exploitation.
November 9th 2017 marks the Global Day of Action for a World without Walls and 28 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall. From Israel’s Apartheid Wall on Palestinian land to Trump’s Wall of Shame on indigenous land at the Mexican-US border, almost 70 walls across all continents are today ripping through people’s lives and lands. Migrants across the world also face their own walls through laws that exclude them and often imprison them in inhumane detention centres.
Grassroots movements in Palestine and Mexico have called on people around the world to unite in mobilisation to:
- Raise awareness about the devastating effect of the increasing dominance of walls in our world and our lives
- Create solidarity and links among the people affected by the walls and movements fighting the walls
- Demand an immediate end to the walls that expel, exclude, oppress, discriminate and exploit
- Resist and defund those that profit from the walls
