Plans for the coming weekend 28/29 Oct 2023
(including travel arrangements to London on Saturday)
The escalation of violence we’ve seen since the 7th October is unprecedented.
Palestinians are again under constant bombardment, yet our government cheers on the denial of food, water and essential supplies. We must act now in solidarity with Palestine.
Last Saturday, 300,000 people marched through the streets of London in the largest Palestine solidarity protest in British history.
The following day, nearly 500 local people joined us on the seafront for a dignified Vigil for Gaza, to hear some inspirational speakers and to show solidarity with the people of Palestine at this dreadful time.
We can’t stop now. Israel’s bombardment is relentless, and it is planning to launch a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip.
We must continue take to the streets and demand a ceasefire NOW to prevent genocide.
For the third Saturday running, a mass mobilisation has been called for London on Saturday Oct 28. We’re urging all our members and supporters to join this march if they possibly can. For this reason, we won’t run a stall at the Clock Tower on Saturday. Details below, including travel arrangements from Brighton.
The following day, Sunday Oct 29, we will again have a Solidarity Vigil at the Peace Statue on the seafront at 2pm. Details below.

Solidarity Vigil – “GAZA CEASEFIRE NOW”
Sunday 29 Oct at 2pm
Peace Statue on the seafront
Last Sunday, nearly 500 local people gathered on the seafront to express their solidarity with the people of Palestine. In the light of the growing appalling casualties and suffering of millions trapped in Gaza, we are asking the people of Brighton to come out again to show your solidarity, and to demand:
- An immediate ceasefire
- Immediate access to humanitarian aid (food, water, fuel & medical supplies)
- An end to the siege of Gaza
- An end to the occupation of Palestine
This will be a dignified gathering to express our collective solidarity with all Palestinian people. It will end with 2 minutes of silence. Join us if you can.
