HP: Harms Palestinians

Between 2014 and 2017, we regularly took part in national PSC’s ‘HP: Harms Palestinians’ campaign against HP Enterprise. The company profits by selling its technologies of apartheid to Israel, to be used in the illegal occupation and oppression of the Palestinian people. HP is still a priority boycott target worldwide.

The background

HP provides and operates much of the key technology infrastructure that Israel uses to maintain its domination over Palestinians. This includes:

• Providing imaging for Israel’s discriminatory checkpoint and ID card systems
• Enabling Israel’s deadly blockade of the Gaza Strip
• Providing services to Israel’s illegal settlements
• Profiting from Israeli prisons, where the use of torture is systematic and widespread.

Our campaign

Over our many weeks of campaigning, we took our #StopHP message to businesses stocking the brand right across Brighton & Hove, helping educate the public about HP’s complicity in Israel’s illegal occupation and human rights abuses.

The campaign even included some street theatre. Shoppers on Western Road were perturbed to see ‘IOF forces’ racially profiling people queueing to enter a shop – bringing to life the cruel and capricious nature of the Israeli occupation.
