Assemble at the War Memorial facing Steine Gardens at 12 noon
Next week, all over the world, supporters of the Palestinians will be marking the 70th anniversary of the Nakba – the ‘catastrophe’ of ethnic cleansing by zionist colonists in 1948 that paved the way for the creation of the Israeli state. And the Nakba continues to this day, with house demolitions, displacement of villages and confiscation of land.
The right of Palestinians to return to their homes is enshrined in international law and UN resolutions. But Israel continues to deny Palestinians this right, and to violently suppress any expression of the right to return, as we have seen in Gaza over the past six weeks.
In Brighton we will have a rally with speakers and music at the Old Steine starting at 12.00 midday. We’ll have specially designed placards, banners and leaflets to create a strong visual impact to get the message out.
