Sarah Cobham – a local activist working with Jordan Valley Solidarity for 9 years – will report from her recent visit to Palestine on:
- the Israeli occupation’s attempts to ethnically cleanse Palestinians from the area through land grabs, settlement expansion, house demolitions, destroying water resources, restriction on movements and military repression;
- how Jordan Valley Solidarity is bringing Palestinian communities together to challenge the ethnic cleansing of their land under the slogan ‘To exist is to resist’, using a model of direct action that aims to bring long-term change to the area;
- the role of women in local resistance and how they are struggling to overcome obstacles to their involvement;
- changes in repression and resistance in the last 9 years.
Brighton & Hove PSC has a long-standing link with activists in the Jordan Valley, which has served to raise the profile of this often overlooked part of the Palestinian struggle. Come along to find out more about the work of Jordan Valley Solidarity – including ways that you can get involved.
