The regular protests outside the EcoStream store in Western Road continue – every Wednesday 1-2pm and every Saturday 1-3pm.
On the fourth Saturday of each month we mount a special picket, highlighting a particular issue in the campaign. This Saturday the featured issue is the plight of the Palestinian workers in the Sodastream factory located in an illegal Israeli settlement in the occupied West Bank. In particular, we will focus on the propaganda regularly perpetrated by the company and its supporters, suggesting that Sodastream generously provides much-needed and well-paid employment to local Palestinians. They suggest that the factory is therefore a force for good, and widely welcomed by Palestinians. We are planning a special event, featuring real voices of Palestinian workers in the factory and living in the surrounding area, which soundly refute these shameful myths.
