Taking creative and direct action to end Israel’s occupation of Palestine

Training Day

Sunday 25th January 2015

11am to 5:30pm

Cowley Club, 12 London Road, Brighton

“For Palestinians and people of conscience everywhere, 2014 will be remembered as the year in which Israel carried out its bloodiest ever massacre of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza strip.

“2014 was also a year of resistance that saw continued resistance and unprecedented international solidarity with Palestine and huge steps forward for the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement.”

There is no time like the present to strike at Israeli apartheid. And you can take effective, concrete action right here in Brighton.

So if you want to learn how to plan and execute direct actions, share skills with others that have years of experience, and meet others who also want to get involved, then come along to our training day.

This FREE event is being run by London Palestine Action and will include:

  • What is direct action? Why take it?
  • Being creative and inclusive
  • Effective tactics (blockades, occupations, die-ins, flash mobs, etc)
  • Building confidence to challenge your comfort zone
  • Planning actions, from start to finish
  • Direct action and the law
Tea/coffee/biscuits and a light lunch will be provided, and those who can afford it will be asked to donate £2/£3 to cover the costs of this.

You don’t have to register, and are welcome to just turn up on the day. However, if you want to let us know that you’re coming it will help us to know how much food to buy. You can do the ‘Going’ thing on the Facebook event at https://www.facebook.com/events/1437772849846292/?ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming

It will be great to see you there!
