Annexation in the West Bank (with Hebron as a case study)
A talk by Issa Amro
What does annexation look like in practice – not in headlines, but on the ground, street by street, home by home?
In this urgent and deeply personal talk, renowned Palestinian human rights defender Issa Amro examines the reality of annexation in the occupied West Bank, focusing on Hebron as a living case study. Hebron is one of the most complex and heavily controlled cities in Palestine, where settlement expansion, military presence, and restrictions on movement shape daily life for thousands of Palestinians. Through first-hand testimony, documentation, and analysis, Issa will unpack how annexation unfolds incrementally – legally, politically, and physically – and what this means for the future of Palestinian communities.
Drawing on years of non-violent activism, Issa will also explore the power and limits of peaceful resistance under occupation, and why Hebron has become both a flashpoint and a symbol of steadfast civil resistance.
This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from one of Palestine’s most respected grassroots leaders about the realities on the ground – and the global responsibility tied to them.
