Over the past month BHPSC has raised hundreds of pounds at its rallies, demos, marches and meetings, and in our collection tins at Taj shops. Our supporters clearly wish to help the beleaguered people of Gaza suffering an appalling humanitarian catastrophe.
We have sent £2000 via Medical Aid for Palestinians and more than £600 via InterPal. Both organisations are doing tremendous work in impossible conditions. We support these organisations mainly because the projects they fund are important forms of resistance to the siege and blockade of Gaza, and because they retain only a small proportion of donations for their own admin costs.
The £2600 we have sent follows a donation of £2000 sent to the Gaza Music School which was raised at our ‘Brighton to Palestine with Love’ event on the 24th of May.
BHPSC thanks our many supporters for their extraordinary generosity. Thanks also to Taj the Grocer management, staff and customers for filling our collection tins to brimming during the current crisis.
