About Us

BHPSC campaigns locally in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their struggle for justice, equality and self-determination.
About us
BHPSC is one of the oldest and most active Palestine Solidarity Campaign branches in the UK. It was founded to campaign locally in solidarity with the Palestinian people’s struggle for justice, equality and self-determination against illegal Israeli occupation, apartheid, ethnic cleansing and, latterly, genocide.
We’re an independent, broad-based and non-party political organisation, run by volunteers who are deeply committed to the cause of Palestinian liberation. BHPSC is mainly funded by membership fees and donations (including collection boxes at supportive shops and cafes city-wide). Our well over 400 members are people of all ages, backgrounds and communities.
What we do
We campaign for Palestinian liberation by raising public awareness about Israel’s racist, supremacist, apartheid nature – and promoting the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement as the best means to end Israel’s complete impunity.

We organise public meetings, marches and demonstrations, art and cultural events, run a regular campaigning city centre stall and much more. Check out our Gallery and the compilation video below to see some of our activities.
Our Aims
Our Constitution, which was updated in 2024 (available on request) commits us to campaigning for aims including:
- Full civil and democratic rights for all who live in Palestine/Israel
- The right of return for Palestinian refugees, as enshrined under international law (UNGA Resolution 194, December 1948)
- The right of self-determination for the Palestinian people
- Supporting Palestinian civil society in its call for BDS and the upholding of international law
- An end to Zionism and settler colonialism.

Anti-Racist and Anti Discriminatory Principles
BHPSC is opposed to all forms of racism, prejudice and discrimination. As an anti-Zionist organisation, we oppose Zionism as a racist and supremacist ideology which has systematically dispossessed and ethnically cleansed Palestinians from their homeland since 1948.

BHPSC is a signatory to Together Against Prevent. As such, we oppose Prevent’s stigmatising approach, which has criminalized entire Muslim communities. It has also played a significant role in labelling pollical activists and campaigners as ‘extremists’, foreshadowing the British state’s intensifying clampdown on any, and all, displays in solidarity with Palestine.
